Halloween Costumes

I've been working on some fun kids halloween costumes.    One lucky little girl will have a shiny new Wonder Woman cape to wear.      And I modified a hat and jacket pattern to create the bare bones of this Link constume.  They'll be adding some more details to the costume but I think it's off to a good start.

Sewing Room Makeover

I started updating my sewing room a few weeks ago.  I finally have my sewing machine back in place and I'm getting back to my usual sewing pace.  I put together this 8 foot bookshelf from Ikea and it added a lot more storage to my room.  I like the ability to close the doors on the other cabinet and keep the clutter out of site, better.  But, any more storage is definitely a bonus.   I have my sewing machine right by the window now and it gives me a nicer view than of the hospital green walls that I used to have in the room.  I just love the new blue color.  It's perfect for the room.   And I had to add some fun decor...

Jumping on the Packer Bandwagon

Packer items are always popular at craft shows.   I had some scraps laying around from a Packer bag and quilt that I had made last year and I decided I would finally make a few runners for my inventory.  It goes against a lot of my Minnesota pride, but I think these runners will find some very happy homes.

Quilt Trip!

Earlier this week I got to take a wonderful and much needed quilt trip with my quilty friends.    We stopped at the Quilt Yard in Osseo.      A great little shop that offered up a lot of inspiration for us.   Next we stopped at the Quilt n Sew Haven in Black River Falls.  It was a pretty small shop, but we all found a little something that we wanted.  The owner was very helpful, too. And I just love this quilt I saw there!  So cute!     The quilt shop in Sparta was a great little find.  We let the day be an adventure and that was the perfect way to have a quilting road trip.   I saw this little picture at the Quilt Corner in Sparta and it was just too funny.  It's all too true during our quilt trips.     I ended up buying fabrics for an applique wallhanging that I am going to be making for our class project this week.   I also picked up some fun fat quarters for a patwork bag.     I picked up this great little panel in

Quilt Class Accomplishments

I had a wonderful evening at my quilt class tonight.      I was able to finish the top to a wall hanging and a decorative pillow cover.  Both are made using Moda Chocolate Bars.  A fun night, that went by much too quickly!

I'm Back!

Oh my! I have been very absent from the blogging world in the last few weeks.  What, you may ask, have I been up to?  I wish I could show you a plethora of beautiful sewing that I have gotten done.  Unfortunately that is not quite the case.  At the end of September we took a vacation to northern Minnesota to visit Lake Itasca and the headwaters of the Mississippi. The pine trees were impressive and the fall colors were absolutely beautiful.   Even the lake was wonderful.  Perfect and peaceful.  Not to mention the guys managed to catch some nice Northerns over the weekend.    Right before we left for our trip I had my monthly quilting class. It is always my favorite night of the month.  Great company, great quilts, and great food too.  Our last project during class was a rail fence quilt so that we could work on some accurate cutting and 1/4 inch seams.  One of my girls worked on laying out this beautiful lap quilt.   The monochromatic color scheme is fab
